Two pregnancies and years of sit-ups, convinced I was the one doing something wrong. Nobody had ever said the word diastasis to me. It wasn't fat — the muscles had come apart.

They talk about us

On in seconds. Forgotten all day.

Pulling on the beige shaping brief over a postpartum tummy

Smooth the second it's on

No waiting and no squeezing. The crossed band holds the moment you pull it up.

Pulling on the fuchsia shaping brief and standing upright

Then you forget it's there

Soft, breathable, and it never rolls down. Put it on in the morning and stop thinking about it.

Why it works

It has three jobs. It does all three.

A woman lifting her top to show the Baylena brief
01

The minute you put it on

A flatter stomach, right away.

The tall waist wraps your belly and your waistline in firm, even hold, so the shape you see in the mirror changes before you have finished getting dressed. Held, not squeezed. You can still breathe, sit down and eat lunch in it.

02

Invisible under everything

Nobody can tell you have it on.

Bonded edges, no seams, no elastic ridge. Under jeans, a fitted dress or leggings it leaves no line and no telltale bulge at the waist. Just your own shape, smoother.

All day hold

It never rolls down.

Two wide bands cross over each other and lock the waistband in place, front, sides and back. Put it on at seven in the morning and forget it is there. No sliding, no rolling, no readjusting in a bathroom stall.

Not all shapewear works the same way.

An ordinary post-partum belly binder

Ordinary shapewear

  • Squeezes only the front of your belly
  • Rolls and slides as the day goes on
  • Shows lines through your clothes
  • Looks like medical kit, so it stays in the drawer
The Baylena Sculpt Brief

Baylena

  • Full 360° hold: front, sides and back
  • Feels like everyday underwear
  • Hidden under anything you wear
  • A visible difference in 2 to 3 weeks

The same principle as the Malaysian Bengkung, a wraparound belly binding used for generations after birth. Two crossed bands instead of yards of cloth, and you can wear it under jeans.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before you order. If something is missing, write to us.

How is this different from a regular girdle or shaper? +

A regular shaper pulls from one wide elastic across the front. All the tension lands in one place, which is why it folds over, rides down, and leaves a ridge you can see through a top.

Baylena spreads the hold across two wide bands that cross over the lower belly and wrap front, sides and back. No single point carries the load, so it holds firmly without digging in, and there is nothing to fold over.

The other difference is that you will actually wear it. Most postpartum support looks like medical kit, which is why it ends up in a drawer after a week. This looks and feels like underwear.

Which size should I order? +

Go by your waist measurement, not your usual clothing size. After a baby the two often stop matching, and that is exactly who this is made for.

Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, a couple of inches above your belly button, keeping the tape level. If you are postpartum, measure above the fullest part of your belly, not across it. Then match it to the size chart.

Between two sizes? Size up. The range runs from S all the way to 6XL. Not sure? The size calculator on this page does it for you in ten seconds.

Will it roll down or slide during the day? +

No, and there are two reasons.

The wide 360° crossed band wraps all the way around, front, sides and back, so the hold is spread evenly instead of pressing on one spot.

On top of that, the waistband has an integrated silicone gripper and anti-roll ribbing that keeps it exactly where you put it. It stays put through a full day, including when you sit. No rolling down, no riding up, no readjusting in a bathroom stall.

Will it show under my clothes? +

No. The knit is thin and the edges are bonded rather than stitched, so there are no bulky seams to print through, and the leg openings finish flat instead of cutting in and leaving a ridge.

It disappears under fitted dresses, jeans, leggings and work clothes. If you want the safest option under light or close fitting fabric, take the beige.

Is it comfortable enough to wear all day? +

Yes, and that is the whole design brief. The pressure is spread across three zones instead of concentrated in one elastic, so it holds without squeezing. You can breathe, sit through a meeting and eat a full meal in it.

Most women wear it eight to twelve hours a day and forget it is on. There is no boning, no plastic edge and no latex.

The only rule is that it should always feel supportive, never restrictive. If it ever feels too tight to relax in, you are in the wrong size, and we will swap it.

When can I start wearing it after giving birth? +

Most women start around 2 weeks after a vaginal birth and around 6 weeks after a C-section, once they have been cleared.

It is soft and seamless with no hard boning, and the waist sits above a C-section scar rather than across it. If you are recovering from surgery, check with your provider first.

There is no deadline at the other end either. Plenty of our customers start years after their last baby.

Does it still help years after pregnancy? +

Yes, and here is the part almost nobody explains: the gap pregnancy leaves in your abdominal wall does not close on its own with time. If your lower belly still pushes forward years later, it is because those muscles are still separated.

That is exactly what the two crossed bands are built to hold and support, all the way around. Not to close the gap, no garment does that, but to give the middle the steady support it stopped getting.

Which is why it works whether you gave birth last year or two decades ago. Time was never going to fix it on its own, so it is never too late to start.

What is it made of, and is it breathable? +

83% polyamide (nylon), 17% spandex, with breathable mesh panels and a cotton lined gusset. That blend is the reason it does not feel like stiff, plasticky shapewear.

The nylon is what makes it thin, silky and breathable, so it stays invisible under clothes and does not trap heat through a full day. It is also what keeps it soft against sensitive or healing skin.

The spandex is what gives it compression with recovery. It holds firmly, moves with you when you sit, bend and lift your child, then returns to shape instead of going slack after a few wears.

The mesh triangles across the waist are there for airflow, not decoration. No latex, no hard boning, no plastic edges digging in.

How do I wash and care for it? +

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a laundry bag, or wash by hand, then air dry.

No tumble dryer, no fabric softener. Softener coats the fibres and the band loses its hold. That is what keeps the spandex firm and the hold exactly as it was on day one.

How soon will I see a difference, and what if it's not for me? +

You will look flat and smooth under clothes the moment you put it on. With daily wear, most women say their midsection feels firmer within 2 to 3 weeks.

And it is backed by a 30-day money back guarantee. Wear it, and if it is not for you, send it back for a full refund. The return is free.
